Limestone Preparation Facility
Rayong, Thailand
Black & Veatch Ltd. awarded R&S a contract for engineering,
supply, startup, and commissioning of a limestone preparation
facility for MTP Cogeneration Company, Ltd. in Rayong, Thailand.
The raw limestone entering this system is 3 inches X 0 inches,
with about 6 percent moisture content. The project includes twin
limestone preparation systems, each of which has a reclaim hopper
that is filled by a front-end loader. The reclaim hopper has a
variable-rate, zero to 20 TPH vibratory feeder that feeds a belt
conveyor. The conveyor in turn feeds an impactor that reduces
the limestone size to 3/4 inch X 0 inch.
The reduced limestone is then dumped into a surge bin that feeds
a weigh belt feeder, which in turn feeds a pulverizer. The pulverizer
further reduces the limestone to -4 mesh, from which it moves
into a burner/combustion system to reduce the moisture content
to about 1 percent. The dried limestone is pneumatically conveyed
about 900 feet to day bins at the power plant. Ancillary systems
include a baghouse collection system, a metal detection system,
and a PLC control system.
