Grant Town, West Virginia
For their Grant Town Project, Bibb and Associates awarded a design
and supply contract to Roberts & Schaefer to create a GOB/Limestone
fuel preparation and handling system.
The process starts with vibratory feeders moving 12 inch by zero
inch (12"x0") raw coal refuse (GOB) from hoppers via
conveyor to a preparation plant. There the unsized GOB is wet
screened, crushed and dewatered to a quarter inch by zero inch
(1/4"x0") product. The preparation plant can optionally
clean this product for use. The prepared fuel then moves via a
series of conveyors and gates to GOB bins in the boiler house.
R&S also created a limestone handling and crushing facility.
Similar to GOB handling above, the limestone moves from a hopper
via conveyor to the limestone preparation plant. There the limestone
is crushed by a hammer mill crusher then dried by a roller mill
crusher/air heater. The prepared limestone is pneumatically transported
to a limestone storage silo at the boiler house where it is combined
with the processed GOB to create a usable fuel.
