Victorville Coal Handling System Upgrade

& Schaefer, as a subcontractor to Duncan Brothers Fabrication
& Construction, Inc., completed the design to relocate the
Quarry Plant coal handling facility. R&S furnished provided
detailed engineering and procurement of mechanical and major electrical
equipment. Enhancements to the original design eased the changeover
and reduced costs.
The upgrade consists of the following new equipment: two belt
feeders, installed under two rail car unloading hoppers, three
belt conveyors, and two transfer stations. It includes relocating
an existing used hopper and belt feeder, and installation of a
stacker/reclaimer, which was not furnished by R&S. Duncan
Brothers did all installation work.
