For the design and supply of a totally enclosed FDG sludge conveying
system for their Zimmer Coal Plant, American Electric Power selected
Roberts & Schaefer for the engineering, procurement and construction.
The project involved the design and supply of several conveyor
flights including overland conveying and stacking. Extreme site
limitations required off-site prefabrication at a staging area.
At this temporary construction site construction crews assembled
conveyor components, conduit light fixtures, and tubular sections.
The assembled elements were loaded on river barges and moved up
river to the Moscow site just in time for assembly in accordance
with American Electric Power's two-year construction timetable.
