Engineering, procurement, and construction management services
were provided for a cut sugar cane conveying and splitting system
to transport cut sugar cane. Services included specification and
procurement of hardware/software from the raw cane cleaning/cutting
station to the sugar mill for processing. The new transport conveying
system replaced an existing flume system that sluiced the sugar
cane from the cleaning and cutting station to the mill. The new
60" wide overland conveyor section followed the existing flume
plan and profile, using two horizontal curves in the conveyor
and fitted with a single horizontal gravity take-up. Roberts &
Schaefer Company provided all the components of the control system
that includes a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Control
Panels wired to I/O.
