New
Truck & Rail Loading Facility
Green River, Wyoming
Roberts & Schaefer performed this study to help OCI develop
conceptual options and corresponding estimates to select the upgrade
that would best serve OCI Wyoming's business development plans.
The study proposed new loadout facilities for both railcars and
trucks. The facility would operate 12 hours per day, 7 days a
week, and 365 days a year, with a rail loadout capacity of 2,600,000
tons per year and a truck loadout capacity of 450,000 tons per
year.
R&S proposed a new single-track rail loadout facility located
over track 10 to the south of the existing loadout. It would include
three 50-ton self-cleaning surge bins, six new adjustable loading
spouts, associated control gates, a rail car positioner, track
scale, an environmentally maintained operator's control room,
safety access platforms and dust control. The new loadout would
be fed by a new elevating conveyor (C39) and a horizontal vibrating
conveyor designed to feed product to the three surge bins equally.
A new truck loadout facility would be located adjacent to the
existing C16 conveyor gallery just south of the existing loadout.
It would include an 80 ton self-cleaning surge bin, dual adjustable
loading spouts, a specialty bypass chute with loading spout, a
truck scale, an environmentally maintained operator's room, safety
access platforms and dust control. A new high angle conveyor would
be added to lift product to the top of the truck loadout facility.
R&S also proposed modifications and additions to the existing
reclaim conveyor system to increase capacity and result in a more
efficient loadout operation.
