Under a design/furnish contract, Roberts & Schaefer provided
all process and detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication,
pre-assembly and construction supervision for a modular 1,000
GPM Carbon Adsorption Plant for gold processing. Work included
the design of all process pumping and piping, carbon handling
and storage, reagent mixing, carbon regeneration, acid washing,
sizing, atmospheric striping, electrowinning and refining.
 In
order to minimize field assembly time, the facility was mostly
pre-assembled in modules designed to fit in standardized shipping
containers. Tanks, pump, and piping were installed and equipment
was mounted and pre-wired within each module prior to shipping.
MCC enclosure was fabricated and shipped complete with switchgear
and wiring. Once in the field, personnel had only to supervise
the erection, testing, and commissioning of the plant.
