All phases of process design, engineering, detailed design, and procurement services were performed for Carlota's"green-field"33,000 TPY Copper Heap Leach, SX-EW Facility located near Miami, Arizona. The design included crushing facilities, conveying systems to the heap, and a processing plant using Solvent Extraction/Electrowinning Technology.
In addition to the process plant, R&S designed all other buildings and project infrastructure which included: Administration building, Change Room, Laboratory, Control Room Building, and a specialized Truck Shop/Truck Wash building designed to accommodate 150 ton haul trucks, Caterpillar 992 loaders and large bulldozers.
This building includes five general repair bays and another repair bay specially configured for bulldozers. The wash bay is equipped with high pressure and hot water wash, wash down sump, oil separator and water recirculation systems. There are lubricant and antifreeze storage tanks with containment pits and a compressor room. The office area has nine offices, lunchroom, bathrooms, issue counter and a small items warehouse. The warehouse has an unloading dock, fenced layout down area,
a 25 ton and a 15 ton crane.
