Roberts & Schaefer Company performed the structural and mechanical
engineering and design of the 132" heavy gauge shear line, modification
of the existing broadside and reversing mill control pulpit, and
widen the existing downcoilers, pinch rolls, guides, and access
structures to accommodate wider and heavier coils. The work included
the layout of the entire line, the design of the uncoiler using
pieces from a used, smaller uncoiler, the modifications to multiple
pieces of equipment including the edge trimmer, guides, manipulators,
levelers, shears, etc. Roberts & Schaefer Company designed all
foundations, pits, roll line sections, drives and structures associated
with the new line.
