New
Madrid Power Plant
New Madrid, Missouri
Roberts & Schaefer, in conjunction with EMS-TECH, Inc., provided
engineering, procurement, and construction of a vertical-mount
stacker at the blending facility for the New Madrid Power Plant.
The
unit can slew to and from three separate piles, with a total slew
angle of 270 degrees. The luffing angle can vary from zero at
the horizontal position to minus 15.2 degrees maximum downturn
to a maximum 15.2 degrees upturn.
Operation can be manual or automatic and can operate in winds
of up to 45 miles per hour. In the automatic mode, which can be
operating locally or from the main control panel, the unit develops
a continuous slewing kidney-shaped pile. In parking mode, the
boom frame is pinned to the support structure for storage during
adverse weather conditions. The stacker unit is rated at 4,000
TPH with a 72 inch feed conveyor operating at 830 FPM. Ancillary
systems included dust collection, vacuum cleaning, fire protection
and washdown collection pumping.
