For their Cottonwood Mine, Utah Power & Electric awarded
a turnkey contract to Roberts & Schafer to provide complete
project management, detailed engineering, procurement, and construction
services for their 1,500 TPH coal facility.
 This
included an 8,500-ton capacity run-of-mine coal surge silo, a
screen/rotary breaker station with secondary crushing, a sampling
system, and conveyance to a 1,000 ton capacity truck loading station.
Truck weights are certified in a platform scale with remote printout.
Major earthwork was required to provide sufficient area for the
coal handling system as well as develop access roads, hauling
roads, parking areas, storage and warehouse space.
