Under a turnkey contract, Roberts & Schaefer designed, furnished,
installed and commissioned a limestone handling system at the
Bay Shore Unit 1 power station.
A limestone truck hopper feeds a 200 TPH receiving conveyor,
which in turn feeds a bucket elevator that fills a storage silo.
A 50 TPH weigh feed belt feeder reclaims limestone from the silo.
The belt feeder feeds a pocket conveyor, which sends the limestone
to a dryer rod mill.
The rod mill reduces the size of the limestone and an air heater
combustion chamber heats it. Oversize material goes through the
rod mill again, while undersize material goes to a surge hopper.
A conveyor sends product of the correct size to limestone day
bins. The system includes dust collection systems throughout.
