City Utilities of Springfield Missouri
James River Power Station, Coal Yard Expansion
Springfield Missouri
| Roberts & Schaefer was awarded a turnkey
contract for the design, supply, installation and commissioning
of an expansion to the existing coal yard at the James River
Power Station for the City Utilities of Springfield Missouri.
The project consisted of installation of a new 48-inch wide
conveyor that is fed from an existing stockpile feed conveyor.
The new conveyor transports material to a new stockpile through
a stacking tube. The material is reclaimed from the new stockpile
by weigh belt feeders and a 36-inch wide reclaim conveyor.
The existing crushing station was modified to accept the new
conveyor and the existing conveyor to feed the existing crushers.
The existing programmable logic control (PLC) system was expanded
to accommodate the new equipment. Also installed were ancillary
systems including fire protection, washdown and pumping systems.
