Mine Slope Conveyor System
Ebensburg, Pennsylvania
Under a turnkey contract, Roberts & Schaefer furnished complete
project management, detailed engineering, procurement, and construction
services to build a mine slope conveyor system at the Ebensburg
facility. The project includes a traveling tripper, loading over
a 6-track storage yard.
The slope conveyor is inclined 16.5 degrees, and carries 5 inch
X 0 crushed coal, collected from a series of underground transfer
conveyors, to grade level. The conveyor discharges into two 5,000-ton
capacity storage silos. Two 1,250 HP motors power the conveyor,
which moves 1,800 TPH a distance of 3,300 feet with a vertical
lift of 1,000 feet. The belt is 54 inches wide, of steel cable
construction, and moves at 635 FPM.
