Roberts & Schaefer performed a preliminary engineering study
for Exploraciones Eldorado S.A. de C.V. at La Colorado Mine, to
improve the mine's existing heap leaching operation and gold recovery
process. R&S developed the most cost-effective alternatives
available to add tertiary crushing and an agglomeration system.
The study also developed the optimum ore-delivery method as an
alternative to the then-current use of trucks. As part of the
study, R&S prepared general arrangement drawings for the new
facilities and prepared the associated capital and operating cost
estimates. In addition, R&S developed a metallurgical program
for use by the client's on-site metallurgical staff.
