To maintain its new fleet of mining trucks, Kennecott Energy
selected Roberts & Schaefer Company to design a new truck
shop capable of handling 240 ton mining trucks as well as mast
down drill rigs.
The facility included two major repairs bays, a lubrication
bay, an indoor wash bay with recycle sump, emergency vehicle parking,
parts room, hose room, maintenance staff offices and a training
room for the mine. The training room was located on the second
floor mezzanine with an elevator for handicap access.
