Q-BOP Furnace Addition, Gaseous Piping, and Flux Handling

& Schaefer Company performed the engineering, design, and
construction management of the new oxygen, argon, nitrogen, and
natural gas pipelines for Geneva Steel's Q-BOP furnace addition.
The work included the engineering of the lines for expansion and
contraction, routing and design of new pipe supports and structures.
Roberts & Schaefer Company also performed the engineering
and design for improved ingredient flux handling and storage in
the Q-BOP area. This includes conveyance from rail cars, of burnt
lime and dolomite, roller-mill crushing, sizing, storage, and
dense phase pneumatic conveyance and injection into the furnace.
