Project Background
In 1997 and 1998 Roberts & Schaefer Company USA was awarded contracts to supply conceptual engineering as well as state of the art coal processing and control equipment to KWK Piast mine, for their new 900 MTPH fine coal preparation facility. Project stalled in 2001 due to ownership changes and lack of funding.
Project resumed in 2007 with the Separator R&S Poland operation taking over the balance of the project. This is a green-field coal preparation facility with a 6000 MT raw coal storage silo, 50,000 MT clean coal stockpile, tunnel reclaim system, blending station and rail load-out. Plant is based on fine coal jig and cyclone circuit, incorporating state of the art equipment including Tabor screens and CMI dryers.
Plant started operation in mid 2008.
