Project Background
Roberts & Schaefer Company was awarded a turnkey contract from Consolidation Coal Company for the three–section overland conveyor expansion at their Robinson Run Mine in Mannington, West Virginia. The conveyor was successfully completed and in operation in 2006.
Each conveyor in the series has a belt width of 60 inches, belt speed of 750 feet per minute, and a capacity of 2,500 TPH of minus 10–inch coal. The three belts have a total length of approximately 22,000 feet and convey the coal down hill. The conveyors are each equipped with a disc brake at the drive and tail pulleys and belt turnovers on the return belt.
