The direct consumption of petroleum coke as a fuel source is
only one of its many uses. Adding coke to coal as a sweetener,
or feeding it directly to Circulating Fluid Bed boilers increases
operating efficiency and performance.
A byproduct in the oil refining process, petroleum coke is also
used by the cement industry, the steel industry in the manufacture
of ferroalloys, and for the manufacture of carbon and graphite
products.
Petroleum coke exhibits a wide range of handling characteristics
and requires careful analysis and selection of equipment. Roberts
& Schaefer Company's experience handling petroleum coke assures
the correct criteria, equipment selection, and facility configuration
for each project we execute.
Our Petroleum Coke expertise is illustrated by the projects below.
MARAVAN REFINERY EXPANSION - PDVSA
Cardon,

Together with EMS-TECH, we constructed a combination stacker/reclaimer
and transfer car that handles petroleum coke at 350 TPH stacking
and 2000 TPH reclaiming. In-depth
