New Elk Mine
Weston, Colorado
Roberts & Schaefer provided detailed engineering for New
Elk Mine's coal handling and preparation facility by preparing
a whole facility layout for a new configuration to double its
feed rate. Roberts & Schaefer also prepared detailed designs
of foundation support, structural steel design, slurry handling,

Integrated Robotic Assay Labs
Carlin, Nevada
For Newmont Gold Company, Roberts & Schaefer designed and
commissioned an automated robotics lab, and converted Newmont's
two laboratory manual assay labs to a robotic facility. Significant
project items include hardware and software integration, specification
of robotics and the automated sampling and analytical instrument
